Wyoming Fly Fishing
This will be a 5 day/ 6 night adventure on a family owned historic dude ranch in the heart of Wyoming’s Wind River Range, where you’ll have access to 4 different waters and a chance to horse pack to a remote alpine lake! Each day you’ll have incredible stream and river fishing for Cutthroats, Browns, Rainbows, Brook trout, and Grayling. Through this Wyoming guest ranch’s gate is a pristine wilderness, the unspoiled Absaroka mountains, threaded by trout-rich streams dotted with breathtaking alpine meadows. A horseback ride or pack trip through rugged mountain passes and basins reveals myriad wildflowers and hoofed and winged wildlife, unique to the greater Yellowstone area.
Fishing is excellent the entire length of Horse Creek and in various lakes and creeks nearby. The only competition are the osprey, heron, and an occasional bald eagle – they know good fishing when they find it. Horse Creek is a pristine mountain stream offering many miles of unpressured fishing. Its headwaters are in Five Pockets, an alpine meadow at about 9,500 feet. Here we will find rainbow and brook trout, some cut throat, as well as medium-sized mountain white fish. While wonderful fishing can be had through the season, July through September offer the most consistent fly fishing conditions.
On this is Backwoods Adventures exclusive, you’ll be treated to traditional western cooking, horseback riding, numerous
opportunities for photography, lodging and the hospitality Wyoming is famous for.
